The pattern is designed for 3-layered laminated fabrics with no-stretch. The basic sewing pattern for men includes a gusset & shaped knees. The side seam is placed further to the back, so the optional thigh pockets sit more on the side.
The design offers the possibility for butt, knee & hem reinforcements. If chosen, it is recommended to choose as light as possible reinforcement fabric.

Extras:
Waistband: Choose between the elastic waistband, 4 cm wide (1.5") with belt loops or the from waistband including the front-fly.
Hand pockets: Choose between the rounded or the zipper hand pockets.
Thigh pockets: Decide on the pocket type and the body side.
Hem reinforcements: Choose between the hem and small hem reinforcement.

Recommended main fabrics: Soft 3-layered laminated no-stretch water-& windproof fabrics.
Recommended reinforcement fabrics: Lightweight Cordura.

The lightweight 3-layered laminated fabrics are water-& windproof and breathable. They are very soft from the inside as they have a fine soft mesh lining 'glued' to the inner surface. Thus no extra lining is needed. The Cordura is abrasion-resistant and could be added for the reinforcements.

The included additional length covers your ankles when lifting your legs to prevent your trousers from sliding above your boots, and small debris or stones getting into your shoes.
